Ways to Give

Donations

Whole Children is a non-profit organization under 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. We are grateful for the many people who have already donated to Whole Children. As a non-profit, we rely on the generosity of individuals, organizations and foundations to help us provide affordable classes with very low teacher to student ratios and with the kinds of environmental supports required to provide a successful environment to children with such a wide variety of different needs. We appreciate all donations, whether they be in the form of money, equipment or services.

Get Involved

We are a group of parents, therapists, educators and others who are working to build a stronger sense of community among families raising children with special needs. We have experienced the struggle of trying to find activities for our children where they can have a positive, rewarding experience that improves their self-esteem. And we decided to create these opportunities for ourselves, our children, and other families facing similar challenges. We welcome anyone who is raising a child with special needs, and anyone who wishes to help or get to know families raising children with special needs.

Sponsorships

For children who would benefit from our classes and services, but whose family may not be able to afford classes, a sponsorship can provide a child the opportunity to take a class for a reduced or waived fee.

Volunteer

In our classes and programs, we rely on volunteers to help provide the additional support needed for children of all abilities to successfully participate. We also rely heavily on volunteer support in our administration. Volunteers are asked to commit at least one hour a week during the school year (and for a complete session of 8-9 weeks), or 2-3 hours a week during the summer session. The tasks we need help for include: 1:1 assistance for children in class; assist lead teacher and assistant teacher with classes and set up/clean up of class; mailings; special events; other administrative help.

Requirements: Interest in helping enrich the lives of children; willingness to learn techniques for teaching children with special needs; reliability; flexibility; transportation; patience
