Milestones Day Program
The Milestones Day program supports individuals 18 and older with developmental and intellectual disabilities during the day, Monday through Friday.
Through the lens of self-advocacy, participants learn to pinpoint their interests, create personal goals, take responsibility for their decisions, and speak up for themselves. Our goal is to help individuals grow in their understanding of who they are and who they aspire to be.
As a community-based day support service, we encourage participants to make life choices at every level and throughout each stage of life. Our participants have many options for fun and educational classes throughout the day, based on their preference when possible. Participants learn to cook delicious dishes in our cooking class or break a sweat during martial arts class. Participants can choose from various activities through our electives, including music, dance, art, or board games.
No matter what class a participant takes, the goal is that each is active, engaged, and exposed to new experiences and friends. Participants are also regulars in the community, working out at the local YMCA, going to the public library, picking apples at local farms, and more.
The day program is funded by the Department of Development (DDS) and through private pay. To enroll, participants must receive a referral from DDS or contact the office directly if paying privately. There is currently a waiting list.
Milestones Day is a separate program from Milestones Recreation, which offers similar classes to adults on weekday evenings and Saturdays and does not require a referral.
Mondays through Fridays, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
